Deaf Ministry

The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend commits itself to advocate for the inclusion of deaf Catholics in their parish communities by partnering with parishes to provide interpreters for Mass, building awareness, and creating opportunities for deaf Catholics to be part of the fullness of life in Christ’s body which is the Church.

Need an interpreter for a Sacrament or a funeral?

An interpreter can be contracted to provide ASL to individuals attending the celebration of the sacrament, (Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, wedding, Ordination) or for a funeral.

Diocesan personnel can assist the parish in scheduling the interpreter and can create a worship aid.
