Catholic Scouting

Delivering Catholic Youth Ministry Through Scouting Programs.

The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend supports Catholic scouting through events geared toward our youth in Catholic scouting and coordinating Catholic medals and activities that can be awarded to our youth.

Activities, Emblems, and Patches

Religious Emblems

The National Catholic Committee on Scouting® offers five emblems that can be earned by scouts.

Activities/Patches

All youth and adults—Scouts or non-Scouts, Catholic or non-Catholic, male or female—are welcome to participate in the Religious Activities and earn patches provided by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting®

Recorded Saint Activities

Thanks to generous support from Our Sunday Visitor, we invite all families, especially our religious education families, our Catholic School families, and Catholic scouting families to join us for virtual lessons surrounding the saints, some of which are offered by our diocesan priests.

Catholic Camporee

Each year, Boy Scouts from across the diocese gather to mark the culmination of weeks of study on the Catholic faith. They camp out for two nights, receive Scouting emblems and awards, and conclude the camporee with Mass.

Information on the 2021 camporee will be provided when available.
