Ash Wednesday Mass Interpreted (SB)

5:30pm – 7:00pm

An interpreter for the deaf will be present at the Ash Wednesday Mass on March 2 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami St. An interpreter from Community Services All Deaf (CSAD) provides ASL (American Sign Language). St. Matthew Cathedral Parish and the Diocesan Deaf Ministry offer these special Masses in addition to the regularly scheduled monthly Masses on the second and fourth Sundays. Please extend the invitation to family and friends who are deaf. Based on a beautiful, brand-new film series featuring “regular” couples and relationship experts from around the world, this free 7-week program will take place online over Zoom on Thursday evenings from 8:00 to 10:00 PM from February 3 through March 17. There is no group discussion, but rather, time built right into each session for you and your spouse to discuss the topic in the privacy of your own home using prompts from The Marriage Course journal. Dine-in/carry-out fish fry in Walkerton

4:00pm – 7:00pm

St Patrick Church, 811 Tyler St., Walkerton, will have a fish fry on Friday, March 4, at 4 p.m. Fish prepared by Tyner IOOF Lodge 821. Tickets are $12 per adult dinner, $8 per child 6-10 years old and under 6 free. Kids are dine-in only. No all-fish carry-outs. Dinner includes fish, 2 sides, drink and dessert. Dinners served until fish runs out.

Queen of Angels’ Lenten fish fry (drive-thru only)

Queen of Angels Parish will host a Lenten fish fry on Friday, March 4, from 4-7 p.m. (or until fish runs out). This will be drive-thru only. The price per carry-out box will be $12.50. Food served will include: a generous portion of fish, tartar sauce, coleslaw, applesauce and cookie. Drive-thru will be located in the parking lot, 1600 West State Blvd., off of Irene Avenue.

Celebrate the first Friday of Lent with Dan’s fish fry at St. John the Baptist, Fort Wayne. Carry out is available via a drive thru line in the culdesac off of Arlington Avenue. Or bring the whole family for all-you-can-eat-fish in the school gym. Adults $12, Children 13 and younger $7, Kids 2 and under eat free.

Menu includes Dan’s Fish Fry, Hall’s macaroni and cheese, Hall’s scalloped potatoes, Hall’s green beans, and homemade dessert.

Come join others who have suffered miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss for a daylong retreat, free of charge, to help face your grief in the context of fellowship and faith.The retreat will be held on Saturday, March 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Parish Center on the outskirts of Notre Dame’s campus. Lunch will be provided. While this retreat is geared for couples, individuals are welcome as well. Sponsored by Marriage & Family Ministry. Sensory-Friendly Mass at St. Vincent, FW

A Sensory-Friendly Mass is celebrated every Sunday at 1:30pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. Parishioners of St. Vincent and non-parishioners are welcome. A Sensory-Friendly Mass provides a welcoming, safe, and stigma-free environment for children and adults with sensory challenges, mental illness, or any kind of disability to feel engaged and experience Mass in a meaningful way with family and caregivers. This Mass offers special accommodations like low lights, no bells or music (singing or instrumental), no incense and a short homily. Lenten retreat at Holy Cross Parish

Holy Cross Parish invites you to a series of retreat presentations that will emphasize the joy to be found in a prayerful Lent. The title of these conversations is “Penance, Poverty, and the Will of God: Experiencing Joy by Turning toward the Father.” The retreat will run five consecutive Wednesdays, beginning on March 9 and concluding on April 6th. Meetings will take place from 7-9 p.m. in the Brother Andre Room in the church. Diocesan Confirmation Retreat: Fort Wayne

8:00am – 3:30pm

All 8th graders preparing for Confirmation are invited to join Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades, priests, religious, students and leaders from across the diocese for a day of prayer, the sacraments, engaging talks and activities. The retreat is a powerful experience for the youth of our diocese to be able to see the vibrancy of the Catholic Faith as they prepare for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Confirmation. Retreats will be held from 8 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. on October 9, 2021 at Marian High School and March 12, 2022 at Bishop Dwenger High School. There is a $20 registration fee. Face of Christ Lenten retreat

St. Jude Parish, 2130 Pemberton Dr., will offer the Face of Christ Lenten retreat Saturday, March 12, from 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. A great way to make this Lent a special one by spending half a day with community and with God. Food will be provided throughout the day. The retreat will begin with Mass at 8:15 a.m., and will continue with a talk throughout the day and time for reflection.

Interpreter for the deaf present at Mass (SB)

An interpreter for the deaf will be present this Sunday at the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami St. An interpreter from Community Services All Deaf (CSAD) provides ASL (American Sign Language). St. Matthew Cathedral Parish and the Diocesan Deaf Ministry offer these regularly scheduled monthly Masses on the second and fourth Sundays at 11am. Please extend the invitation to family and friends who are deaf. In 2005, he was appointed the Exorcist for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. He received his training in Rome and is a member of the International Association of Exorcists.

A drive-thru only fish fry will be Friday, March 18, in the parking lot at Sacred Heart Parish Hall, 63568 Old U.S. 31 S., from 3:30 to 7 p.m. or sold out. Tickets available at the event. Two drive-thru stations available. Fish fried by Tyner. Tickets are $12 for adults.


St. Jude drive-thru fish fry

Mark your calendars for Friday, March 18, for the Most Precious Blood School Lenten drive-thru only fish dinner. Fried to delicious perfection by The Big Eyed Fish, this year’s dinner runs from 4:30-7 p.m. and adult dinners include fish, baked potato, coleslaw, and homemade dessert. Cheese pizza dinners will also be available.

The Knights of Columbus and Jerry’s Fish frying service will be offering an all-you-can-eat fish fry at St. Therese Parish in Fort Wayne on March 18 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Meals include homemade macaroni and cheese or freshly made seasoned potato wedges, coleslaw, green beans and beverage. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children age 12 and younger.

Interpreter for the deaf present at Mass (SB)

11:00am – 12:00pm

An interpreter for the deaf will be present this Sunday at the 11am Mass at St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami St., South Bend, IN 46613. An interpreter from Community Services All Deaf (CSAD) provides ASL (American Sign Language). St. Matthew Cathedral Parish and the Diocesan Deaf Ministry offer these regularly scheduled monthly Masses on the second and fourth Sundays at 11am. Please extend the invitation to family and friends who are deaf. If you would like to raise awareness for the Deaf Ministry and assist in its efforts to provide support for the deaf members of the Catholic community in our diocese, please contact Allison Sturm at [email protected] or at 260-399-1452.

A Sensory-Friendly Mass is celebrated every Sunday at 1:30pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. Parishioners of St. Vincent and non-parishioners are welcome. A Sensory-Friendly Mass provides a welcoming, safe, and stigma-free environment for children and adults with sensory challenges, mental illness, or any kind of disability to feel engaged and experience Mass in a meaningful way with family and caregivers. This Mass offers special accommodations like low lights, no bells or music (singing or instrumental), no incense and a short homily.
