Human Resources handles the hiring of all diocesan, parish, and school employees in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Human Resources also manages the diocesan safe environment program for current employees.

The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend is a not-for-profit religious corporation empowered under Canon Law to fulfill the spiritual, educational, and charitable mission of the Catholic Church in Northeastern Indiana.

When you serve an internship with the central diocesan offices of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, you will be immersed in an atmosphere of engagement and motivation. Through this collaborative spirit of teamwork, we help advance the mission of Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades and the Catholic Church throughout the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. 

Internship opportunities vary by semester, with the Secretariat for Communications and Human Resources accepting applications on a semesterly basis, summer included. Other departments accept interns on an as-needed basis, and applications are always welcome.

We look for students pursuing disciplines that fit with our needs: Communications, Business, English, Philosophy, Theology, Marketing, Videography, Catechetics, and Graphic Arts, to name a few possibilities. While specific requirements may vary by opportunity, all interns must:

  • Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church. 
  • Possess professional communications skills. 
  • Be located in the Fort Wayne or Mishawaka, Indiana vicinity. 
  • Have an interest in or passion for promoting the Catholic faith.
