Adoration Under the Stars (but Inside by Candlelight)

7:00pm – 8:30pm

Come and bring your family and adore the Lord, surrounded by candlelight and the sounds of music from the young adult choir. We will be celebrating Christmas in July. While this event is normally held outside, according to the liturgical norms, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament should take place in churches or oratories, so we will no longer be having Adoration outside. The evening will close with Benediction.

Finding Christ in Suffering presented by Mary Glowaski


Mary Glowaski is the Assistant in Pastoral Care to Bishop Kevin C. Rhodes of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.

A licensed social worker, Mary received her master’s degree in pastoral theology from the University of Dayton. She has worked extensively with Catholic Charities, serving the poor and directing refugee resettlement.

Mary served as a pastoral associate at St. John the Baptist Parish in Fort Wayne for more than 20 years. During that time, she was asked to become the Victim Assistance Coordinator for the diocese: She holds that position today, along with supporting Bishop Rhodes by responding to a myriad of other pastoral concerns as well. Hers is primarily a ministry of response to sensitive situations involving or expressed by both laity and clergy.

Mary is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation a ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and serves as a consultant for serious pastoral concerns for other religious communities throughout Northern Indiana.

Mary has two sons, Paul, and Patrick both married to wonderful young women Moly and Jessica and the delight of her life are her three grandchildren Yoshito, Charlotte and Callum

The series will run on Tuesday evenings from July 19 to August 16. This will be at outdoor event at St. Thérèse Little Flower Catholic Church in South Bend.


Live music along with food trucks serving begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a talk from a community member and live discussion. This event is BYOB.

St. Jude Movie Night on the Lawn

St. Jude will be having a movie night Friday, July 22, on the lawn. Ice cream treats provided by Whip & Chill, as well as pizza, drinks and other snacks. July Eucharistic Pilgrimage: St. Jude Adoration Chapel, Fort Wayne

Each month, you are invited to take a self-guided pilgrimage to a site of Eucharistic significance in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Visit the site any time during the month to encounter Christ in the Eucharist and self “stamp” your Eucharistic Pilgrimage passport. The July pilgrimage site is the oldest perpetual adoration chapel in our diocese, located at St. Jude Parish, Fort Wayne. Pilgrims are invited to download a pilgrimage passport at diocesefwsb.org/eucharist and self “stamp” the passport each time you visit a site by simply writing the name of the site in one of the provided boxes. When six sites have been visited, bring the passport to Divine Mercy Gifts in South Bend or to Good Shepherd Books & Gifts in Fort Wayne to receive a free gift!

17th annual Lube-A-Thon for Hospice

7:00am – 6:00pm

The Lube-A-Thon is an annual event co-sponsored by the Center for Hospice, where customers will receive a free oil change and car wash in exchange for a $45 donation to Hospice. Over the last 16 years, we have raised around $80,000 for this important cause, and each year we tend to service between 100-120 vehicles. We will have a small vendor market out front featuring local South Bend crafts and businesses, and the Coffee Spot Cafe will be open for food and drinks during the event.
