Mary’s Glen and Prayer Chapel welcomes visitors

Mary’s glen is a Spiritual oasis for prayer located at 2514 Reynolds Street. The rosary walk, fence of 100 saints, Stations of the Cross, Holy House, Outdoor Statuary, gazebo, picnic tables, prayer benches, fire pit, chapel with rest room is  9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Small group events scheduled by appointment. First time visitors register in chapel as Mary’s Glen Affiliates. Affiliates are prayed for daily.

Christ Child Society of South Bend opening day

The Christ Child Clothing Center, 2366 Miracle Lane in the Town and Country Shopping Center will offer free clothing to families at or below 130% of the poverty level. A referral form is required. Forms can be obtained from agencies such as St. Vincent de Paul and Women’s Care Center or St. Joseph County public and Catholic schools. Scholarship Application Deadline: World Youth Day, Lisbon 2023

Join the Holy Father and Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades in Lisbon, Portugal for World Youth Day July 28-Aug 7, 2023. World Youth Day is an international gathering of hundreds of thousands of youth and young adults with the Holy Father as they celebrate their united faith in Christ. The pilgrimage will include visits to Fatima and other pilgrimage sites in Portugal, concluding with six days of WYD events in Lisbon with the Holy Father. The diocese will be offering many pilgrimage scholarships worth thousands of dollars to youth and young adult pilgrims. St. Aloysius Festival

St. Aloysius Parish, 14623 Bluffton Rd., will be hosting a festival on Saturday, August 20, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. A farmer’s market and flea market begin at 8 a.m. Children’s games will run from 10 a.m. to noon and a chicken dinner and ice cream will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The chicken dinner will be $12 for adult meals and $6 for kids’ meals. Raffle tickets available for drawing at 1 p.m.

St. Pius X Catholic Church is excited to welcome the entire Michiana community to the Sixth Annual Flyin’ Lion 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, August 27. The 5K race starts at 8 a.m. and the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins immediately following the start of the 5K. Featuring a chip-timed race and a post-race celebration, this community event kicks off a day of festivities for the Parish.
