Totus Tuus Missionary Applications Open

Totus Tuus is in need of college-age men and women committed to their Catholic Faith who feel called to share it with the youth in over 50 different arch/dioceses during the summer months. The missionaries are chosen based upon their desire to teach the faith, love of children, energy, enthusiasm, and for their individual leadership skills.


World Apostolate of Fatima Annual Mass and Breakfast

World Apostolate of Fatima Annual Mass and Breakfast will be Saturday, Oct,. 1, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception beginning at 7:30 a.m. with confessions, rosary, First Saturday meditations and Mass at 9 a.m. Concelebrants will be Father Glenn Kohrman, Spiritual Director, and Father Robert Garrow, Associate Spiritual Director. A Marian procession will follow with a breakfast at the Grand Wayne Center. Breakfast speaker is Dr. Paul Kengor.


Kingdom Builders Conference

Walk to Remember for Perinatal and Infant Loss

10:00am – 2:00pm

The ninth annual Walk To Remember for Perinatal and Infant Loss will be Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Huntertown Family Park Pavilion, 2303 Woods Rd., in Huntertown.


The Walk offers something for everyone. A highlighted activity is a one mile memorial walk around the park following a banner with your baby’s name on it. Other stations with additional activities will be available, such as:

– Resource Tent: Filled with information on many area organizations that specialize in memorial items, support groups, and more.

– Chalk Art: A wonderful activity for the entire family to draw on a section of the 1-mile path to remember your baby.

– Family Craft: This year’s craft is decorating a flowerpot, with forget-me-not seed to plant.

– Family Photography: Beautiful props and a professional photographer will capture your family – a keepsake that can be added to the ways you continue to remember and honor your angel baby’s memory.

– Refreshments: Donations from Prairie Farms and other local companies provide milk, juice, coffee, hot cocoa, snacks, and baked goods.

– Free Raffle: A few lovely care baskets will be raffled off. Something to bring a smile to your day, if just for a moment. You will receive a ticket to enter to win whichever basket you would like.

– Balloon Release: each family will receive a balloon following the memorial walk, which they can write a message to their angel baby, which will be released together.

A gentle reminder that absolutely everything at Walk to Remember is at no cost. Everything is FREE to participate in.

Blessing of St. Joseph Grotto

Parishioners of St. Francis Xavier for will have a Mass Sunday, Oct. 2, at 9 a.m., in the church, 408 W. Catholic St., followed by the blessing of St. Joseph Grotto built as a memorial for Father Charles Herman, a beloved pastor of the parish who passed away in December 2020. After the blessing a brunch follows in the parish hall.

Each month the Holy Hour is lead by a different priest or deacon and once a year by Bishop Rhoades. The Oct. 4 Holy Hour will be led by Father Stephen Felicichia. Join St. John the Baptist Fort Wayne will have a Parish Festival.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. games, bounce houses, face painting, balloon artists, horse wagon rides, and more will be offered. From 5:30-7:30 p.m. food trucks featuring Chau Time, Flora & Lilly, and King Arthur’s Trolley will be on site with music and a raffle drawing for $10,000 in prizes.

From 7:30-11 p.m. a silent auction, Adam Strack Band, Texas Hold’Em Tournament, Blackjack tables, and cash bar will close out the evening for those 21 and over.

St Stanislaus Kostka Polish Style Chicken and Sausage Dinner

Jubilee anniversary Mass and reception (Fort Wayne)

All couples celebrating their 25th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 65th or 70th wedding anniversary this year, along with their families, are invited to attend the Jubilee Anniversary Mass with Bishop Rhoades on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. A ticketed reception will follow in the hall at St. Mary, Mother of God Parish. Anniversary couples will receive a commemorative certificate and two free tickets to the reception. Christ Child Society of South Bend Boot Collection

The Christ Child Society of South Bend will hold a Boot Collection on Sunday, Oct. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. at their Clothing Center in Town & Country Shopping Center. Gently used or new boots in any size from toddler to adult would be welcome.

Each child who comes to the Clothing Center receives NEW clothing, winter coat, and shoes. With the snowy South Bend winters, boots are also a great need. Please help CCS keep little feet warm and dry.

Memorial Mass for those who have lost a child

A Memorial Mass for those who have lost a child, including through miscarriage and abortion, will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. at Christ the King Church in South Bend. All are welcome, including siblings and grandparents. You will have the opportunity to record your child’s/grandchild’s name in a Book of Remembrance, to take home a silk rose in honor of him or her, and to pray together with others who have suffered the loss of a child. The Oktoberfest will feature a traditional German dinner, live music, games, and more. Additionally, the parish will have a display of historic photos as well as highlight the vocations discerned by students during their time at Ball State and couples who met their spouses through the Newman Center. Diocesan Confirmation Retreat

All 8th graders preparing for Confirmation are invited to the Diocesan Confirmation Retreat to join priests, religious, students and leaders from across the diocese for a day of prayer, the sacraments, engaging talks and activities. The Diocesan Confirmation Retreat is a powerful experience for hundreds of youth from our diocese to encounter the vibrancy of the Catholic faith as they prepare for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Confirmation. A missionary team from Damascus Catholic Mission Campus will help facilitate the retreat. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Saint Joseph High School. The Marriage Course Online

Strengthen your marriage from the comfort of your own home with The Marriage Course Online! Based on a beautiful film series featuring “regular” couples and relationship experts from around the world, this 7-week program will take place online over Zoom on Tuesday evenings from 8:00 to 10:00 PM from September 13 through October 25. The course is free, but each couple purchases two course journals on their own. There is no group discussion, but rather, time built right into each session for you and your spouse to discuss the topic in the privacy of your own home using prompts from The Marriage Course journal. Here are the topics covered: Strengthening Connection, The Art of Communication, Resolving Conflict, The Power of Forgiveness, The Impact of Family, Good Sex, and Love in Action. The program is hosted by Lisa Everett, director for Marriage & Family Ministry for the diocese, and her husband, Deacon Fred Everett. Memorial Mass for those who have lost a child

A Memorial Mass for those who have lost a child at any age, including through miscarriage and abortion, will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 28 at 5:45 p.m. at St. John the Baptist in Fort Wayne. All are welcome, including siblings and grandparents. You will have the opportunity to record your child’s/grandchild’s name in a Book of Remembrance, to take home a silk rose in honor of him or her, and to pray together with others who have suffered the loss of a child. Sponsored by Marriage & Family Ministry, Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.
