Home for the Holidays: Steps to Awaken Faith in our Adult Children

If you are concerned about an adult child who has strayed from the practice of the faith, you are not alone. Please join us for an Advent evening of hope and help co-sponsored by Marriage & Family Ministry and Ablaze Mission. “Home for the Holidays: Steps to awaken faith in our adult children” will take place on Thursday, December 1st, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at St. Thérèse Little Flower Parish, 54191 Ironwood Rd., South Bend, on the lower level of the church in Payne Hall. The evening will include a presentation and discussion on steps to rekindle faith in young adults from Brandon Vogt’s book, “Return: How to Draw Your Child Back to the Church” and copies of the book will be available at no cost. Refreshments will be provided. The evening is free of charge, but we are asking people to register so that we know how many participants to expect. Called and Gifted Workshop

The Called & Gifted workshop is a teaching team from the Catherine of Siena Institute in Colorado Springs who will offer an introductory Called & Gifted workshop, on Saturday, Dece. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Father Reider Auditorium at Huntington Catholic School in Huntington. Everyone is invited to participate. The workshop will cost $30 for those who are not parishioners of SS. Peter & Paul. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Christmas Craft Fair

The sixth annual St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Christmas Craft Fair will be Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Only handmade items by fellow parishioners and the Fort Wayne community at large will be offered.


This event is a fundraiser for the MOMs group. It provides the means to take of care the members of this ministry and create fellowship opportunities through parish-wide events hosted by the ministry. In these ways the fair gives gifts to many throughout the entire year. Join us to kick off your Christmas season with a joyful bang!

Life Defenders Workshop

St. Jude will host a life defenders workshop held on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at Thad Hall, 2130 Pemberton Dr., with speaker Mike Spencer from RLNI.


This workshop is open to all ages from grade 7-adults.

Saint Nick Six

Registration is open for the “coolest” St. Joe event of the year. The Saint Nick Six road race will take place Saturday, Dec. 3, at St. Joseph Grade School at 9:30 a.m. Join for the 6K run, 3K run/walk, and the “Run, Run Rudolph” for the youngest kids. Breakfast with St. Nicholas

Bring family and friends for Breakfast with St. Nicholas while learning about his origins. Of course, St. Nicholas is the saint whose life forms the basis for our modern-day Santa Claus. Polish Dinner

11:00am – 1:00pm

Drive thru Polish Dinner will be Sunday, Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hedwig Memorial Center, 331 S. Scott St. Meal ticket includes 1/2 a chicken, sausage, green beans, mashed potatoes, cabbage, and noodles.

Tickets can be purchased for $18 at the parish office or after the 4 p.m. Saturday Mass at St. Hedwig. Deadline to purchase tickets is Monday, Nov. 28.


Lighting of the Lake and Living Nativity

5:30pm – 7:30pm

The blessing of luminaries dedicated to those who are special will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, at Mirror Lake. Immediately following the blessing, members of our University community will portray the Living Nativity. This special event honors the Christmas creche tradition begun by St. Francis in 1223, which reenacts the birth of Christ. End the evening with complimentary cookies and hot cocoa at Achatz Hall of Science and John and Toni Murray Research Center.

We will begin with Mass in the chapel at 7:00 PM, followed by time to pray silently, to be prayed over by members of the prayer ministry team, or to speak with someone and be prayed over in private. Notre Dame Children’s Choir Lessons and Carols Concert

This annual Lessons and Carols Concert will feature three of our six children’s choirs, nearly one hundred children ages 5 to 10, performing works for Advent with scripture readings, prayers and congregational hymns in the beautiful Mishawaka church sanctuary of St. Bavo. All are welcome to this free concert, which is handicap accessible with plenty of parking in the rear or front of the church, as well as on the street.

Christmas with Sacred Music at Notre Dame

Christmas with Sacred Music at Notre Dame celebrates the seasons of Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany through the choral, organ, and vocal music of sacred music composers of Gregorian Chant to contemporary carols. Come hear the music of Vaughan Williams, Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Whitacre, and more performed by the graduate students and faculty of Sacred Music at Notre Dame.


The evening features performances by SMND faculty Kola Owolabi, Stephen Lancaster, and Mark Doerries as well as Concordia Vocal Ensemble and the Notre Dame Children’s Choir. Organ prelude begins at 7 p.m. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.

Breakfast with St. Nick

St. Patrick Parish will host a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, and eggs with gifts for children and a visit with St. Nick on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the gym. Cost is $6 for children, $12 adults, and $30 for large family.


‘Our Lady of Guadalupe: Spain to America’ Musical to be Performed

“Our Lady of Guadalupe: Spain and America” is a musical theater production that traces the history Of Our Lady of Guadalupe Extremadura in Spain to Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico.

A taco bar will be furnished by the Knights of Columbus.

Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast w/special guest

Candlelight Holy Hour and Candlelight Midnight Mass for New Year

11:00pm – 1:00am

There is no better place to say, “Happy New Year” than in front of Jesus. Beginning at 11PM on December 31 at Our Lady of Good Hope, there will be Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament. During this time, the Rosary will be prayed and there there will be time for silent adoration. Benediction will close the Holy Hour as we bring in the New Year of January 1, 2023.

This will be immediately followed by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.

A holiday photo exhibit of different parish altars decorated for Christmas is now at the Diocesan Museum. The Museum is free and open to the public Tuesday thru Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Museum is located next to the Cathedral at 1103 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne. There is free parking available. Handicap entrance is on the south side of the building.
