Aug 2 (B, L, D): Morning Catechesis, Youth Festival

Please note that we have added a new policy that the Hotel Roma balconies are not to be used after 10:30 p.m. in order to encourage rest for our pilgrims.
Chaperones must do room checks after 10:30 p.m. Youth must be and stay in their rooms after 10:30 p.m. (It might be closer to 10:45 p.m. tonight…that is OK)
Make sure youth have received their medications and that they have been recorded.
No need to wear our Diocesan T-shirt tomorrow. We will ask everyone to wear A Diocesan T-Shirt when we welcome the Holy Father on Thursday.
Wake up is 7:00 a.m.
We have our first day of “Rise up” catechesis tomorrow. Our Rise-up site is the Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation.

The Rise up session runs from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The Church only can hold 500 people, so we will leave for the Catechesis site at 7:45 a.m. from the Hotel Roma lobby and arrive at 8:30 a.m.
Make sure to eat a significant breakfast as lunch is really hard to come by near our Catechesis site.
I would personally recommend that riding the metro back out near Hotel Roma might get you food faster than waiting in the lines in central Lisbon (up to your group)…also it may be a good idea to rest a bit before our WYD USA gathering in the evening with Bishop Robert Barron. Bring water with you!!

Rise Up and Mass
AFTERNOON
Lunch on your own using World Youth Day Meal Voucher
Free time to explore Lisbon, City of Joy, and various Youth Festival events in your small groups.
Dinner should be found using World Youth Day Meal Vouchers
WYDUSA Gathering for pilgrims
We will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Hotel Roma lobby to depart for the WYD USA event.
- Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
- Event runs from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Features at Holy Hour led by Bishop Robert Barron
- Location: Parque da Quintas das Conchas e dos Lilases, Alameda das Linhas de Torres, Lisboa, Portugal (3.5 KM from Hotel Roma)
Reminders for Group Leaders:
- Chaperones must do a “Room Check” at 10:30 p.m. They should ensure that their youth are at the hotel by about 10:00 p.m. each night of the pilgrimage.
- Chaperones should ensure youth have received their medications and that they have been recorded on the pilgrim’s medication forms.
- Adults should be in rooms no later than 12:00am
