Breakfast and Departure notes by Bus / Hotel:
Hotel Fenix Ipanema Pink (Bus 2) Wake-up will be at 6:30 a.m. Breakfast begins at 6:40 a.m. All pilgrims with ALL their luggage must be ready to leave at 7:30 a.m.
Hotel Eurostars Heroisma: Green (Bus 1) and Red (Bus 5) Wake up will be at 6:30 a.m. Breakfast boxes will be available for pick-up starting at 7:00 a.m. Pilgrims MUST EAT their breakfast box before climbing abord the bus at 7:30 a.m.
Hotel Bessa: Yellow Bus 3 / Blue Bus 6 (Group 6.2 Janelle Schmitt, Stephanie Hamilton, Jennifer Born, Fr. Jonathan Norton) and 6.4 (April Ganser and Fr. Patrick Hake)

9:30 AM – Arrive at Fatima and meet Bishop Rhoades

Talk by Sister Angela, the postulator for the causes of Saints Jacinta and

Afternoon Free time to explore the Shrine of Fátima, including the Basilica of Our Lady of the
Rosary and Basilica of the Holy Trinity and participate in the devotions

Reminders for Group Leaders:
Sunday, July 30: Fatima
- After eating breakfast, welcome people onto the bus. As people get on bus, ensure they have their passport + any phone / chargers, their luggage. Pilgrims must be ready to depart by 7:30 a.m. Pilgrims should not eat or use the bathrooms on the bus. This should be done before getting on the bus.
- Do roll call after everyone boards (ensure YAPP and Chaperones acknowledge that everyone from their group is onboard)
- Chaperones should ensure youth have received their medications and that they have been recorded on the pilgrim’s medication forms.
- Plan to pray Invitatory + Morning Prayer on the Bus to Fatima. Invite priest to lead.
- Feel free to have priests or other pilgrims lead songs, games, or prayers as desired.
- Bus ride will be from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
- Mass is planned for 10:00 or 10:30 a.m. with Bishop Rhoades in Fatima.
Fatima
- Small groups should spend time to go through discussion questions in the pilgrim booklet
- After spending the day in Fatima, help lead small groups back to buses. Make sure pilgrims are loading the correct bus, same color as their name tag.
- Do Roll Call for your bus, making sure that each small group has all the pilgrims on board.
Travel to Lisbon for 1st night’s hotel in Lisbon.
- Upon arrival at the hotel, let the tour escort/guide exit the bus to get the hotel room keys and instruct everyone else to stay on the bus.
- All of Flight 1 (Bus 3, Bus 4, Bus 6) will stay at: Hotel VIP Executive Zurique R. (Ivone Silva 18, 1050-124 Lisboa)
- All of Flight 2 (Bus 2) will stay at: Hotel Roma (Av. de Roma 33, 1749-074 Lisboa)
- All of Flight 3 (Bus 1 and Bus 5) will stay at: ● Hotel VIP Executive Entrecampos (Av. 5 de Outubro 295, 1600-035 Lisboa)
- Give any directions about meeting times or plans for the rest of the day/evening on bus
- Dinner on own
- Youth Room Check is 10:30 p.m. each night. (Chaperones must verify every youth from in their group is in their correct hotel room). Groups should arrive back at hotel no later than about 10:00 p.m.
- All adult pilgrims are expected to be at the hotel rooms no later than midnight.
- Wake up tomorrow is at 7:30 a.m. All pilgrims must be ready to depart (Checked out of hotel, Breakfast at hotel eaten, luggage on the bus) by 8:40 a.m.
- Tomorrow we will visit a 13th century Eucharistic Miracle in Santarem and visit 2 monasteries
- Once pilgrims have their keys, instruct them to disembark, find their luggage which has been offloaded by driver and porters, and head to their rooms.
- Then, assist with distributing the keys (as needed) and direct people to the elevators.
- Chaperones and YAPP’s must listen to key distribution to record in their rooming list the room number of each of the members of their small group.
- Chaperones should ensure youth have received their medications and that they have been recorded on the pilgrim’s medication forms.
- Bus Captains should plan to meet briefly with diocesan staff / support staff who are staying at their hotel to review the day and ensure everything is set for the next day.
